I have a digital satellite box with component video output (can output 576i, 720p, and 1080i in PAL). It also has Analogue and Digital Audio output via either coaxial digital out, or Optical Digital Out/SPDIF.

I need to somehow get both those signals into a Vista Media Center PC. Then output via the appropriate solution to a TV with component Video input (maximum resolution 576 lines interlaced - NOT progressive), and Digital audio.

Is this scenario even partly achievable?

Many thanks

  1. In the US, this is not possible. The reason is not technical, it is legal-our copyright protection laws. Your laws may be somewhat less restrictive. You would need a TV tuner for your PC that accepts component inputs, and will work with MCE. I suggest you try posting in the windows MCE newsgroup. This forum covers XP and Vista MCE issues.
