  1. I use Quicken. It's the best. You can buy it an any software store or download it directly at www.quicken.com

  2. If you use Quicken to track your expenses then you can set up bill reminders.  You can set it up to remind you as many days before the bill as due as you want.  Other similar programs might have the same feature but i'm not sure.  Also, I just try to pay the bill the day I get it, otherwise I know I'll probably forget.

  3. I like to use Quicken because you can set it to remind you about upcoming bills and pretty much do anything you need to to keep track of your finances.  There are other programs that would probably do the same as well, such as Microsoft Money.  It's just a matter of personal preference.

  4. If you have Office 2007, you might want to look over Microsoft One Note.

Think of an electronic notebook, that you can print pages into and store on your computer.

You can create tabs, name pages for fast access.....its simply amazing and a GREAT organization tool. I recommend it to everyone.

  5. How about a calendar; Sunbird is free, you can set reminders. I back date when the bills are due, if the bill is due the 15th, I have it on the calendar to be paid on the 12th.

You Need A Budget is a program I brought ($39), I think they have a free version, not sure. Here is one handy hint to make bill paying sort of painless. Say you get paid today, and you have $300 left over from the previous paycheck. Use up the $300 on as many bills even if they aren't due for weeks. This will give you a breather, instead of paying a bill every other day, you will clear a group of them in one shot.
