What program can i use to answer phone calls via telephone line to my house (free software)??

i have a laptop with microphones built in and work on the computer alot. is there a program that i can use that is free (freeware) that will let me answer the call via my laptop so that i dont have to go downstaris to get the phone? i have a phone jack on the wall that i can plug a phone cord into and then i have a modem in my laptop so that i can plug the phone cord into my laptop. i have windows vista so please send me links for compatible windows vista freeware

Yes enable hyper terminal that should work.

So basically hook up a telephone cord from the wall into your laptop.

Configure hyper terminal.

When the phone rings.. it will ring on ur laptop too..

no, you can't not on a land line, but with VoIP perhaps!!
