Question:

What program do weather people use to do their weather maps behind them? Not asking about green screening...?

I am not talking about the chroma key process itself. I know how to do that. What I would like to know is what program the weather people use to generate the weather maps and graphics themselves... and show them on air. They can do all sorts of zooms and other neat things. I would like a program that can do that.

  1. The best thing for you to do if your that interested in the way the weather is done is to take classes in it and get into this yourself. People don't usually know something like this unless they do it themselves. Go ask the weather channels or something.

  2. Most stations in the country use the top two rated weather graphics programs and they are "Weather Central" and "WSI". They are the best programs out there right now; the graphics come from those; for radar data "Nexrad" or "Nowrad" is used as well. I'm not sure if you can just get the program personally for your computer, they are pretty expensive but you can check it out just type in the programs into the search bar. I'm pretty sure "WSI" has a website.
