Question:

What program should I get to record and mix my music?

I am looking into purchasing a program so I can record and mix music I have written. I want to be able to put them on a cd if possible. I don't want to pay so much for a program just yet, something to get me started, I really don't have money to buy anything too expensive. Are there any GOOD programs that can do this for around $150. Any recommendations??

  1. Audacity is very proficient for a free program. You can convert the project files onto mp3 and burn them with another program no problem. It has multi-tracks and quite a bit of effects to use at your discretion. Really simple too.

  2. I use Acid music studios. It's not bad and by registering your product you can use most features on their site (Acidplanet.com). the forums are great for answering questions of any sort. I paid about $60-70 bucks for mine so price is not so bad either. Another program I heard was good, but I personally never tried is pro tools. Check them out and see for yourself.
