My own domain means @mydomain.com or whatever your domain is. I don't want @comcast.net. I've been wondering how Yahoo Mail and gmail do it. Help!

  1. First off you need a decent internet connection with a static IP, one that NEVER changes.  You have to setup DNS servers and have your domain point to your computer.  THEN you need an email server.  After that you can (optionally) install a web server and PHP (or another programming language) and access your email via a web browser, or you can just use Outlook or another email client.
