  1. Didn't Germany invade Poland and the french (WHO HAVE NEVER WON A WAR) along with Britain honored their commitment ,that they would come to the their ade if attack? We have the same thing with many countries including Israel.

  2. Germany invades Poland after promising to stop taking land.

To the person who says the French never won a war, they won the 100 Years War and did really good with Napoleon leading, they just decided to attack Russia and lost

  3. The are whole shelves of books on this subject, but to give you a quick and entirely inadequate answer:

The Treaty of Versailles after WWI stripped Germany of its air force and navy, particularly subs.It forbade Germany from ever having any more.

Between wars Hitler secretly built state of the art batlleships, huge fleets of submarines and HUGE fleets of warplanes, even bigger swarms of tanks. The rest of the world was powerless to stop him because after WWI they had disbanded their armed forces and scrapped most of their war materials. They were of the belief that WWI had been so big , so horrible and so expensive there would never be another war. They were wrong.

By 1939 Hitler had a powerful armed force that he displayed on every occasion. Britain and France tried appeasing him, but Hitler swallowed one country after another.Czeckoslovakia, Austria, then he attacked Poland which was defenseless. It was then that Britain and France declared war as Hitler made it clear he intended to swallow all of Europe. Later it became evident he intended to do the same with Russia, but they fooled HIM.

In the meantime Hitler had made a running start on the liquidation of 6 million Jews, men, women, children and babies. Also cripples, insane, homosexuals, etc., anyone deemed undesireable or who disagreed with him This included a lot of priests and ministers.

But I do run on. Go to the library.

  4. It is usually said to be the invasion of Poland in 1939. This was basically the straw that broke the camels back though, as Hitler was voraciously claiming territory after territory for Germany.

  5. They both had an alliance with Poland.  When Poland was invaded, they had to declare war on Germany.

Just like in WWI, but with different countries.

  6. Germany invaded France in 1940.
