Question:

What proof is there for global warming?

I have not seen any real proof of global warming, all we hear is democrats saying that there we are ruining the environment and depleating the ozone layer. Yes, we may be polluting but I see no evidence we created global warming.

  1. The globe is warmer

  2. The blind partisanship from leftists such as blue..is illustrative.  It demonstrates that in spite of them harping that it isn't a political issue, it is.  You notice how they suggest the ice is melting and it could get worse.  Do you suppose they look at the snow in the winter and when spring comes say "oh my, the snow is melting and it might get worse, it might all melt" " we are all going to die".  They suggest that melting ice is necessarily worse.   It is a ridiculous assumption.  It might be worse for some people or some animals but it will certainly be better for others.  I can't imagine how they came to see themselves as the arbiters of what is good and bad.  The problem is that they refuse to look at benefits.  These ice huggers need to understand that most animals don't do well in the cold.  We are fortunate to live in a very warm period that is probably caused by natural variation and is in no way unique in recent geologic history.

  3. Do yourself a favour and get the facts rather than just listening to opinions...

Read this (it's only 18 pages):

    http://www.ipcc.ch/pdf/assessment-report...

Then see if you need to ask this question again.

It is very, very clear: Mankind is causing global warming - that simple.

It has nothing to do with US politics (who cares if democrats say this or republicans say that - what impact does a politician's speech have on facts and truth?).

  4. Polar ice caps melting although I think the polar bear endangerment is more of a poaching problem.

  5. Well lets see polar bears are eating one another and thats not the norm the ice caps are melting and the ice flows that the bears used to get around on and hunt are no longer existiant thats just one example and we are responseable for this we are so dependant on fossil fuel but again we are focusing on the problem and not the solution we can make a diffrrence we just need to sit and think use our brains I work for a enviromental group and work with a man that can save the planet in 10 years with his inventions we just need to recognize that people like this are out there and have the answers to the problems we face Google the name Jim Starry and see him and his airport desgine and it is so simple that we will save on pollution and fuel.

  6. None. The things that are happening now (ice caps melting etc.) are CYCLICAL. Before the 80's we were worried we were going to enter a "mini-ice age". Global warming is a fad and purely politically motivated.

    EDIT:

"if we don't do anything to prevent global warming, the earth will be destroyed before the sun has any chance it destroy it."

I'm sorry that's just not actually physically possible. Afraid we're going to melt?

  7. Supposedly the stats. for it have gone up in the past couple years from our doing.

  8. The north pole is almost gone, and it's not a political issue, even your crack pot holy roller leader lil bush admitted that its real and we need to act ( he's just not too clear on the "when" part yet) . what do you need to prove it to you?? penguins swimming in the gulf of Mexico, not being able to go outside without applying SPF 1000???when we have to start eating soy-lent green cause there's no water to feed crops??? it gets so hot that we have to live underground and become freakin mole people??? then would you say "hey maybe there was something behind that global warming sh*t after all huh".

  9. I summarized the evidence in the link below.  Give it a look.

  10. There isn't much evidence. The polar bear population has actually increased substantially in the past 5 years. Look it up.

  11. the ice in the artic is melting. soon it'll be all melted.

global warming is really getting worse in worse.

more proof: temperatures are raising higher and higher than it has ever done in the past 200 years.

if we don't do anything to prevent global warming, the earth will be destroyed before the sun has any chance it destroy it.

the end of earth should of been with the sun exploded and scorched the earth when it turned to a red giant, but since global warming has started, earth will be destroyed much sooner.

  12. pollution destroys the Earth's ozone layer causing it to get hotter in some areas. It affects the oceans more and the glaciers is Antarctica. The glaciers are slowly melting and if we keep polluting, the glaciers will melt and drown half the world.

Scientific studies show that this is true by measuring ocean temperatures and comparing them to 20 years ago. Also, for the past 10 years, satellites monitored the atmosphere and confirmed there were imbalances.

  13. No alarmist waits for proof or even evidence before acting.  The game of follow-the-leader is the only one they play, and they're very happy living the lives of sheep.  There is no evidence of global warming that's worthy of consideration.

  14. Al Gore says so.  To the masses, thats good enough.

"and the blind will lead the blind"

  15. The ozone layer is so high that nothing gets that high except the solar winds. Nothing we can do will change that.

  16. The policy of policymakers that Adam C quotes was written before the actual IPCC report came out.  In other words a policy is written for political reasons and scientists have to confirm to their views.

I read the report, other that saying humans are most likely the cause, I did not see any proof.  Maybe Adam C can quote the passage.

  17. Ignorant people love to say the polar ice caps are melting.  THEY ARE NOT!  They are melting in some spots, while freezing in others!!!!  Al Gore doesn't tell you that.  He shows you one small part then says, "See?  It's melting."

Global Warming is a scam to keep small African nations from taking a big piece of the money pie from fat-pocketed European nations.  All you Global Warmists will one day discover your own racism.

  18. The reality is that we are in or near the warm point of a natural cycle. An indicator that we may have peaked on this cycle and that 1998 was the high point of the cycle and it did not get as high then as the previous recorded peak in the mid 30s. There are a lot of indications supported by most of the non political scientists of the AGW crowd that we might be in for a 20 to 50 year cool spell like we went through in the 70s, but no one on either side is positive yet. And the political AGW group are still pounding the disaster drums trying to stir up a panic that will allow the New World order to take control of things and bring Karl Marx’s dream to fruition!

  19. I haven't seen any hard evidence either, but I have seen this:

"Forget Global Warming: Welcome to the new Ice Age (Canada's National Post – Feb. 25, 2008)

Excerpt: Snow cover over North America and much of Siberia, Mongolia and China is greater than at any time since 1966. The U.S. National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) reported that many American cities and towns suffered record cold temperatures in January and early February. According to the NCDC, the average temperature in January "was -0.3 F cooler than the 1901-2000 (20th century) average." China is surviving its most brutal winter in a century. Temperatures in the normally balmy south were so low for so long that some middle-sized cities went days and even weeks without electricity because once power lines had toppled it was too cold or too icy to repair them. And remember the Arctic Sea ice? The ice we were told so hysterically last fall had melted to its "lowest levels on record? Never mind that those records only date back as far as 1972 and that there is anthropological and geological evidence of much greater melts in the past. The ice is back. Gilles Langis, a senior forecaster with the Canadian Ice Service in Ottawa, says the Arctic winter has been so severe the ice has not only recovered, it is actually 10 to 20 cm thicker in many places than at this time last year. […]Last month, Oleg Sorokhtin, a fellow of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, shrugged off manmade climate change as "a drop in the bucket." Showing that solar activity has entered an inactive phase, Prof. Sorokhtin advised people to "stock up on fur coats." He is not alone. Kenneth Tapping of our own National Research Council, who oversees a giant radio telescope focused on the sun, is convinced we are in for a long period of severely cold weather if sunspot activity does not pick up soon. The last time the sun was this inactive, Earth suffered the Little Ice Age that lasted about five centuries and ended in 1850. Crops failed through killer frosts and drought. Famine, plague and war were widespread. Harbours froze, so did rivers, and trade ceased. It's way too early to claim the same is about to happen again, but then it's way too early for the hysteria of the global warmers, too."
