Question:

What proportion of the world's water is ice?

I am doing a project in Geography and one of the questions is what i just asked. I looked everywhere in the internet and I cannot find it.

Does anyone know?

If water takes up 3/4 of the worlds surface I am guessing 1/5 is ice. Does anyone know for sure?

  1. I found out it's 1.7% actually. However ice accounts for 68.7% of freshwater.
