What protection of AVG Anti-virus version 8 are still active after trial period expires?

If you are referring to the limitations of the free version of AVG Antivirus, I believe that the only thing that won't work after 30 days is the email scanner, which is in my opinion superfluous anyway.  Do yourself a favour and run a custom installation and deselect the email scanner during installation.

if you have a trial, you might want to go to downloads.com and get avg free

AVG is junk it has too many bugs and version 8 was bad

for anti-virus

go with avast or avira

for anti spyware

use superantispyware

No protection if your trail expires. your pc will be prone to viruses and other dangerous programs and softwares, you better get a new one or a free version. but a free version is not the good. you can get AVAST or NOD32. AVAST has a freeware for home users its really good. and have your system scan after updating the antivirus to eliminate viruses and worms on your pc.
