Probably like a Nat'l Statistics office which has a record or database of all the citizens/population living in that certain city.I lost contact with a friend who lives in melbourne and I really wanna find her.

  1. you can try to track this person down if you have details about her [like address, phone number/ect] but it will cost you

however I do not think that this service exits in a public office [aside from missing persons]

  2. are you able to access any state library in Au ... ?

because if you look her name up on the electoral roll you might be able to find her that way.

I found a family member on the roll who ( through a marriage break-up) had lost contact with one side of her family. I haven't contacted her though because I appreciate her desire to remain away from the family. I just wanted to know that she is alive and well ... IF you are unable to check the library .. I will be going into the city soon .. .and if you care to email me your friend's name I could try and check it out for you.. no promises of successs.. just trying to help.

  3. You could try Facebook or the white pages.

  4. The suggestions already listed are definately worth a shot. Another thing I thought of is putting an ad in the Herald Sun. I think it's in the Saturday paper they have a section where people write in looking for old friends, school reunions, etc. Here's the web address:

    Good luck with your search!
