I'm starting my day at alexanderplatz. Is my destination within walking distance? If not ,then what S or U lines should I use and what station is closest to lafayette?

Galerie Lafayettes is directly at U-Bahnhof Franzoesische Straße (Line U6). You can also walk from Alexanderplatz, this will take about 15 to 20 minutes. Or, probably the best way: take the U2 from Alexanderplatz to U-Bahnhof Stadtmitte (one stop from Französische Straße) and walk 3 to 5 minutes from there.
