We are looking to establish a small debating society in Edinburgh for adults. We'd like to hold it in a pub in central Edinburgh so we need a pub with a spare room. We'd probably host the event early in the week on a monthly-basis.

  1. The Holyrood Tavern (near Pleasance) has a function room. The Counting House is larger, above the Blind Poet and beside the Pear Tree (West Nichsolson Street), and can also be hired out.

  2. Try '80 Queen Street'  -  on Queen Street funnily enough.  It's at the West End, near Charlotte Square

  3. d**n I was going to make the mass-debating quip - but was beaten to it...

  4. I agree

  5. If you get enough people there, it will be mass-debating, and I'm not sure your local pub is an appropriate venue for that kind of thing. Just think of the poor cleaners...
