I hate to kill any living organism if it has a specific role in our environment.

  1. everything has a purpose but there is an abundance of wasps. They wereput here to take up space. I was brutially attacked by a swarm of wasps when I was a kid. Kill them, they are predatory and very social. This means that they are dangerous and attack in numbers.

  2. ALL living things have a specific role in our environment.  Nature is "perfect" at balancing itself if man will just leave it alone.

Wasps are very beneficial for several reasons, the main one being in their control over the spider population.  Many wasps are spider hunters.  They look for spiders everywhere, as you've probably seen when you've watched them darting about your flower garden and seeming to look for something.  They paralyze the spider with their sting, and take it to their nest where they place it within the nest chamber.  They then lay an egg on it, and seal the chamber.  The newly hatched larvae feeds on the spider, then goes into metamorphosis, and later breaks out as a new wasp.

It IS possible to slowly and carefully "move" the wasp nest, to a better location, but you "really" have to know what you're doing so you don't damage the nest or get stung, 'cause the wasps will not like it.

They will NOT bother you if you do NOT bother them.  Live and let live.

  3. Just kill them there are no shortages of wasps and they hit pretty hard when they sting.

  4. I understand what you mean about killing something that has a purpose, but everything living organism has a purpose. However, if it is outside your front door, then the risks outweigh the benefits and the nest should be eradicated.

I recommend a specialist, as a swarm can be dangerous.

  5. they are pests and their stings hurt. kill them, especially if they are near your home.
