What purpose does daylight savings time serve now?

i know years ago it helped the farmers with extra daylight hours, but is that still true?

  1. No, it just lets The Bush say stupid things, like he thinks he controls time.


  2. None. It's pointless. There's probably some kind of bilking scheme for the government to take more money from tax-payers behind it.

  3. Even the energy saving bit hyped of late is debatable.  I was much happier when i lived in Indiana without DST.  It's particularly annoying at the western edge of a timezone.  Guess where i live...


  4. It's a great energy saver. You get up when it is light and need less light later in the evening before you turn in for the night. That is why DST gets extended when there is an energy crunch.
