We are looking for a pushchair that is suitable from birth, not too pricey and and lightweight. I have a Corsa so it has to be able to fit in the boot. Its a minefield out there so interested in what other used and how they found them. Don't want to shell out on an expensive buggy to only end up buying a stroller when they are 6 months old! Any help greatly appreciated.

  2. Hi, the best way to look at what is on offer is to look on ebay, there is every pushchair you can imagine on there, having had 4 kids I have had lots of pushchair (17) and the last one I've just bought off ebay is a Chicco CT04, it is very lightweight, has big chunky wheels for off road, and folds up quite small with quick release wheels. My daughter is 11 mths and I bought this as it scores a 10/10 for buggy board fitting. If you find a pushchair you like google ie Chicco CTO4 review and there will be reports from mums and dads that have used them. I paid £40 for mine plus £10 postage and it is immaculate.

  3. I have got a Quinny Buzz Travel system with a maxi cosi car seat that slots straight on it folds up small and looks really funky and best of all you can get a really good price for them second hand on ebay when you have finished with it. The cheapest place to buy these from is www.groovystyle.co.uk I got mine for over £200 cheaper than mothercare was asking.

  4. buy a maclaren they are from birth and r light weight. u can buy the head huggers for newborns.

there r so many out there go to ur local pram shop tell them ur budget and then they will help u find the right one.

  5. i think this one is great for what you're paying. i don't have the car seat or the foot muff as i bought it when baby was 10 months old. it's quite light, not too big but not too small, has a huge shopping basket and lies down flat so you don't have to use the carseat. it's not great looking but it does everything you need. graco do one very similar (or should i say this one is very similar to graco?).

  6. Hi,

There is a wide range out there so you bound to be overwhelmed by which to chose from!

The Travel Systems are quite good in some respect as you get the car seat and can fix it on top and when baby too big, they can use the pushchair.

I got a silver cross pram for Caden but sold it and got a Quinny Buzz and it absolutley fabulous!

It is expensive but well worth it and so easy to set up when you got baby in one hand, car keys in the other ect! Lol!

Best thing to do is to go to a big Mothercare such as MotherCare World and speak to someone there who works in the travelcare section.

Tell them what you looking for and have a feel of different prams, pushchairs and make an informed choice.

  8. When I had my son, we bought a Silver Cross travel system costing 450 pounds.  We used it a lot at first but as soon as my son could walk he doesn't like the pram (he has been walking from 11 months).  I feel that the money spent was not justified for using only 1 year.  Would therefore strongly recommend the buggy type prams that  are suitable form birth as you'll get loads of use from them - you'd easily get one for less that 80 pounds.  Be wary of 3 wheelers as they tend to be longer folded up  - not good for a small car.  Would suggest trying it in the car before you buy it - we did.

    hope this helps
