  1. You did just right now.

  2. If you're talking about teenagers... I'd have to say desperation.  JMO

  3. What puts the thought of doing anything in a person's mind?

A lot of people get into using witchcraft, or any occult practice or a pagan religion because of shows and books. In my opinion the three biggest causes of this in today's world would be the Twilight series, Charmed, and Harry Potter, yet none of these actually portray what really goes into it.Most of the people who do get into witchcraft and the occult because of these pop cultures things tend to lose interest after they learn it isn't what it is people think.

Another group, mainly teenagers, get into it for attention and to be different and scary.Usually they don't have any knowledge of what these practices actually are.Just recently a girl from my school who is emo and a bit childish read on my facebook that I was a practicing witch. She demanded that I tell her what I thought I was doing and don't I know Wicca is for girls. It really made me laugh hysterically.

The last main group who get into witchcraft and the occult do it out of curiosity and family ties.I will admit that Buffy the Vampire Slayer ( which probably out of all the shows that are fictional and deal with this, so far gives the most accurate portrayal) is one of the main reasons I began researching the occult, but as well my father told me I had a great Aunt who was a   holistic healer and was into many new age practices.

  4. I have been practicing the Craft on and off for over 35 years. It's a diverse and sometimes difficult pursuit but I've always found it immensely rewarding. I actually began after questioning some of the folk remedies my grandmother used that seemed to heal better and faster than anything the doctor gave us.

  5. I was drawn to it my whole life. Don't know why. And I certainly don't know why others are, it's probably different for everyone.

  6. to get what they want the easy way  if i could i would, if  i had the choice of working hard for years for something or just boil a bat and say a few crazy words and get it or harm my enemies with a doll or something  why not?

  7. Some younger people get into it from Tv shows like Charmed or Buffy. But those who are serious find it a good religion that goes with their beliefs. There is no devil in Witchcraft, the Devil is a Christian creation, and an excuse for burning and drowning people who do not conform to their beliefs. It is about the Earth and the natural way of the universe, and not a bad path if you ask me, its a whole lot less violent than most religions.

  8. Witches were known a long time ago as the healers of their society.  They were sought after for advice and treatment for illnesses.  The history of witchcraft is completely fascinating and the amount of knowledge involved can be overwhelming but completely fulfilling.  It takes a lot of study, time, patience and endurance to practice the craft and those who study for years can still find things to learn about; you never stop learning.  It is very empowering.

  9. History.  What you call witchcraft has been around since the beginning of man.  It's called many things, by many different people.  Most who become interested in practicing or learning are driven by something they feel is lacking in conventional practices or religions.

A child dies of a disease and a grieving mother turns away from her christian beliefs.  A middle aged woman who just can't buy into the belief that she has no control or power over her own life its all up to some great being.  A teenager who wants to be special, a power unto himself.  The old indian grandma whose known how to heal when the doctors couldn't.  The business man who chooses to ask for guidance and has empowered himself to be the ruler of his life.

It's no different than a Christian who converts to Islam, a Jew who converts to Christian, or the murdered who converts to Buddhism.

A personal and highly individual choice we each can make.  If we all walked the same path, traffic would just be a mess.

  10. it might be the same thing that puts it into peoples heads that getting on their knees and whispering their hopes and fears and desires to a big invisible  deity  will improve their lives !

  11. The Devil? Peer pressure? Feminism? Curiosity? Drugs? Inability to separate fantasy from reality?

  12. you need to be better educated on what witchcraft is.

it is a religious practice, we use it in wicca, it is a form of prayer and manifestation of wants and needs. most will do it with the intent to harm none, for the good of all. there are people in all religions, however, who will turn things around and do things that are evil. most people associate witchcraft with evil, but it isn't. look up wicca and witchcraft on wikipedia, that will give you some background info.
