What qualifications do i need in order to study in America?

Hi,

Im 14 and when i leave school i would like to go to America to study to be a front of house sound technician, my question is do i need qualifications to get into America and if sowhat are they?

I want to go to school at University of Edinburgh, and i'm a 15 year old american!

Anyway, colleges in america require SAT or the ACT.

the best test to take is the SAT because more schools accept it. Every college has different qualifications, but almost all of them require a test like the SAT. Usually, they also ask for the applicant to write an essay, send recommendations, take an AP (advance placement) class, and just be active in their community.

I think your best bet is to contact a school that you're interested in attending.  Each institution may have its own requirements, and those may be different for students coming from outside the country than for those coming from inside the country.  You may even find schools that accept your country's exams for entrance purposes.

If you find a school you like and you meet their entrance requirements, you'll, of course, have to apply.  Part of that will be applying for a United States F-1 student visa.  You can find more information about that at the US Department of State website (see below).

My battery is running low.  Good luck to you!  If you really want to do this, you will make it happen.  I love the theater work I did professionally right out of college, but I didn't have the drive to stay in the biz.
