  1. degree ect the whole lot!

    worth it though!!

    whats with the thumbs down!?!?!

its true you need to be highly qualified to fly a plane! even people in flight control have to hold a degree, sheesh my grandfather was a fighter pilot so i think id know.

  2. listen to me, heres exactly what you need to know,

first of all you can get your commercial pilot license without any previous degrees even if you haven't finished high school.

but the bad news is that you will never be able to work at a reputable airline unless u hold a university degree in any field no matter what, even if it was sports, or art. some airlines require only a college degree but these airlines are not as reputable as the ones that require a university degree,,,   without any sort of a degree the best you can reach is working as a flight instructor or a small lousy charter company if you were lucky,,

  3. Take a look at this website (AOPA) It is a valuable resource for someone just staring out in aviation.

    http://flighttraining.aopa.org/

You can find a local flight school easily by visiting

    http://www.beapilot.com/

A degree is recommened once you get to the major airline level, most people get their degree online during their flight training or while working as an instructor.

There is valuable information on becoming a pilot at the FAA website at

    http://www.faa.gov/pilots/become/

    http://www.faa.gov/library/manuals/

    http://www.faa.gov/pilots/become/

    http://www.howstuffworks.com/pilot.htm

A copy of FSX Microsoft Flight Simulator is a great way to learn about the fundamentals and it can build a foundation to build on .....

  4. would joining the air force put you on the right track?

  5. The US qualifications are at the www.faa.gov website under regulations, pilots, Part 61.

You don't need to go to college, but it is a good idea.

In the US you need a Private Pilot certificate to get the Commercial Pilot certificate.  You have to be 18 to be certified as a Commercial Pilot.

  6. first you need to get your private pilots licence. Then go to college and take aviation as your major. You'll need to log ALOT of hours to get your commercial, but you can do it, if you really want to. Go for it.
