  1. You need to achieve a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a Masters of Arts in Teaching if you already hold a Bachelor of Arts in another content area, then you will need to take the Praxis exam, which is the exam you take in order to get your certification.

There are also alternate routes to certification, the Master of Arts in Teaching is considered one of these.

I recommend looking at the Department of Education website for your state in which you live.  They outline all the different types of Certification.

  2. This really depends on what state you live in. Though it is preferable to have your Bachelors in Education, many states have alternative paths for other types of degrees to become a teacher. Usually you have to choose a particular path and take either a state or national teaching exam and follow the guidelines of your state. I recommend looking at the department of education website for your state or the state in which you intend to teach.

  3. It depends on what subject you wish to teach and at what level.

For instance I teach physics in a secondary school

    I needed a degree - I have a physics degree

I also needed a English an H Grade or A level in England

That is all I needed to enrol for a post graduate teaching qualification which took a further years full time training.

    Hope that helps

  4. all the regulations are at

    www.tda.gov.uk/recruit.aspx

  5. Bachelors degree, teaching credential, etc... blah, blah, blah...

  6. A Cert. Ed. Which you can get at a FE or HE college.

  7. Degree in Education...lol

  8. A degree in teaching for a full time teacher and if you are wanting to substitute teach it depends on the school system

  9. First you have to have a deep desire to teach and reach students of all ages.

Second you should know that you will never be rich working in public education, but you will be fulfilled.

Next you decide what grade(s) you want to teach.Jr & Sr. High School you will fogus on subject: English, Math, Science, History etc. Elem you will work on general over lay of all subject. The first two years will be all your basic subject and then your core courses.

& Oh yeah  you must be smarter than a fifth grader :>)

  10. Very much depends in which part of the UK you are in.

In Scotland you must have a university degree in the subject you want to teach plus a one year PGCE certificate. Tha's for secondary.

For primary you need a degree and a one year PGCE or a four year university course.

I believe in some oarts of the UK you don't have to have a degree
