Other than being able to mix things in bowls, wear too much make-up and look good for the male dentists to leer at all day...oh and fetch coffee...

  1. Shame us poor dental nurses are still looked upon as silly little girls who sit on their ar$es all day long holding a big straw like thing sucking out blood, saliva and god knows what else!

I wish it was that easy!

To work as a D/N in the Uk one has to be registered with the General Dental Council and hold a recognised qualification, if a D/N is not GDC registered or studying to gain their qualification it is against the law in the uk for them to be working!!!

  2. To be a dental assistant (nurse) you really need to go to school.  Some dentists will hire an untrained assistant but not many.  It takes about a year.  While it is a fulfilling job it really doesn't pay much.  I have been an assistant for about 25 yrs. and love it.  Goodluck

  3. I think that's about it.

Given that Jade Goody was a dental nurse before she went on Big Brother, though, you can probably scrap the bit about looking good

  4. is there such thing as a dental nurse??? ive heard of dental assistant, but never a dental nurse
