What questions can be asked during rental verification?

What is the process? Why do some rental companies seem to not provide that service ?

If a new complex is checking your previous LL then they'll ask if you were a good tenant, did you pay on time, did you leave the unit in good condition when you moved out or was there a lot of damage or was it dirty, were there any complaints or problems while you were living there, did you fullfill your lease obligations were you evicted, and would they rent to you again.

Last thing they want is to rent to someone who the neighbors complained about, who didn't pay the rent, had to be evicted and left the apartment in shambles.
