  1. The line of work you are in can affect your risk rating. They will also have an extensive medical questionnaire for you. Depending on the size of the policy they may send someone to your home or office to do routine blood and urine work.

  3. About your job?  Is it dangerous thus making you a bad risk.  If you work in an office, the company will like that.  If you are a crop duster pilot, you will pay extra for coverage.

  4. They will ask what your occupation is to determine the risk class...being a firefighter is more risky than an office worker, so there's a higher chance you you dying.

    They will also ask what your income is leading to your networth.  If you are making $10,000 a year and have no networth and you're applying for $5 million in insurance...looks a little fishy or fraudulent.  Or if you're a low income earner and applying for a large amount they need to make sure you can afford the premiums....$1,000 a month in income with $500 of that just going to life insurance is a recipe for disaster.

    They may also ask of any other sources of income as a precaution for anti-money laundrering and terrorism.  You can use insruance policies as tax shelters or the death benefits could fund illegal activity...no company wants to run the risk of being associated with that.

    Other than that, they'll ask yo medical questions to make sure you're healthy and not just appliying becuase you are going to die in 6 months and want your family to cash in.  Sometime blood or urine tests are required.  If you're older or applying for a very large amount, physicals and such may be required.
