What questions would they ask me at an interview for a retail store?

Question

it is a young fashion store focused on ages from 17-25.

I was speaking to a girl that works there and she said that they asked a lot about budgeting..i'm not too sure of the sort of questions she means by "budgeting questions"..what does she mean?..

I have no idea about budgeting questions...if they are personal budgeting questions then they are completely out of line and I can't think of why they would ask you about budgeting thier money!

Typically they should be asking you about your

.experience

.training

.education

.work ethics

.possibly give you some scenarios of things that could happen and how  you would handle them

.etc etc

Budgeting - anything to do with cash flowing in or out of store.  Sample Questions might include:  Have you ever had a cashier job before?  Are you comfortable counting money/change?  Are you good with computers (most cash machines are computers these days).  They may test you in math skills, add, subtract, multiply, divide.  Have you ever used a 10-key pad (data entry, calculator type).  hope this helps...It really helps if you are upbeat, friendly, easily approachable.
