    Because, only when we are still, can we find the true essence of God-- in silence we can hear the voice of God, and feel his presence. When we are not still , we are distracted from his presence. of course, our day to day lives require us to be in movement,  but there is always time, even if just a moment, to still the self, and acknowledge and feel the presence of God.
