I try to say very simple, and not using a lot technical terms.

1.  Sizes:  Both have big sizes, but currently Plasma does not have any sizes less than 42 inches.  On the contrary, you can buy an LCD which has 20, 26, 32, or 37 inch-size.

2.  Prices:  If the same size, e.g. 42", the plasma is usually cheaper.

3.  Pictures:  The screen of the plasma is usually brighter.  It's good if it's put in a room which is not too bright.  But if the room is very bright (due to the surrounding lights or from the sunshine), you will have the glare from a plasma screen while you don't see it with an LCD.

4. Angles:  You can see good pictures wherever you sit in front of a plasma, but with an LCD, if you sit far to the right or left, the pictures will not be perfect as when you sit right in the middle.

5.  Weights:  If the same sizes, the plasma is much heavier than an LCD.

6.  Energy:  If the same size, the plasma consumes more enery than the LCD.
