Question:

What "will" you do in Heaven?

This was on my 'Added Details' in another question of mine, but I would also like answers to it separately.

If there is a verse in the Bible that explains this then please post that. It's on the of the few times I'd accept a part of the Bible as an answer.

Anyways here it is:

If everything in the Bible was real, I wouldn't want to go to heaven anyway.

Why would I want to go to a paradise... if Heaven and h**l existed... then I would fight for existence on Earth... not above or below it. I would rather spend my entire existence in a mix of balance and unbalance... than complete Good or complete Evil.

If we have no control whatsoever over these "immortals" and such... then what are we.

When you go to Heaven... you'd better do something useful... I don't want you up there just enjoying paradise for eternity... you'd better rid h**l itself... you'd better do something.

Tell me a part in the Bible that actually tells of what's to come after entering Heaven, something unselfish unlike eternal happiness. There would "be" no point.

If all these myth-like things happened to create Heaven and h**l... what makes you think it can't change. I doubt it's just locked forever in place.

Now tell me what you will do when in Heaven...

  1. Some of us will be rulers in authority, some of us will be servants to rulers, some of us will be assigned to the Temple, others will have various tasks.  God is a busy God, He doesn't just sit around and watch things happen; and when He recreates the earth, I am certain that will also change some time during eternity.  God is progressive - He never changes, but what He creates always does because He never creates anything which will stagnate and be useless.  God will not erase our knowledge of Good and Evil, we will still have it so we will always be faced with that choice.  There is very little said about the Kingdom of Heaven apart from what Jesus implies through various parables, and from the visions John was given in Revelation - from this we know that all the ordinances, regulations, and things we know of now will pass away and be replaced by something new.  Even the earth and the heavens will be recreated.

Just as the Old Testament gave indications and "hints" of the New Testament, mankind did not know the details of the New Covenant until it actually came into being.  Similarily, we have soem indications of what heaven will be like, but actually have no idea on what the details will be.  I am almost 100% certain there will be a third covenant, even better than what God gave through Christ, which we will have once heaven is established on the earth and earth is restored to a similar state which existed prior to "the fall."  In reference to this, however, the scriptures only tell us there will be a new heaven and earth.

Why not live a perfect life in heaven ? ( after doing God's will on Earth )

  4. I have often thought the same question

As an atheist, I don't believe in Heaven or h**l.

So, I wonder what you would do in Heaven

Is it some sort of extention of your Earthly life, surely you would think so, meaning that in Heaven , you must have some remembrance of what your life was like before you died

So I ask myself , can I have s*x in Heaven. I don't have a partner, so if I die without one, can I pick up chicks in Heaven, some how I doubt it.

Can I have a beer in Heaven. If I get drunk, will I cause fights and will I have a hangover the next day?

If my ex-wife goes to Heaven do I have to speak to her and will I still want to kill her?

If my children do not go to Heaven will I miss them?

If my ratbag sister goes to Heaven will I still be fighting with her?

Can I play sport in Heaven?

Will my Downs Syndrome nephew still have his affliction in Heaven?

I could go on and on but I'm sensing you begging me to stop.

Somehow, I just can't see it being much fun in Heaven, and please don't give me that c**p about being forever happy because I am in God's presence.

Eternity is a long time and i'm sure even that would get old after not too long

  8. Some of us are actually coming back in positions of authority on earth and that's not lazing around the clouds I'll tell ya. That's work. But it's God's work so I'm cool with that.

  9. Hey there Debbie Downer!

There's nothing wrong with a little naive hope and optimism.

I'm excited for Heaven. I look forward to that day.

  10. To answer you briefly, man was created to be with God.  We screwed up and have a separation from Him that can only be fixed by faith in Jesus Christ.  Seeing that Heaven puts us back into a full relationship with God Himself, I don't see that it matters what we DO in Heaven.  Adam had jobs, he had to take care of all the animals. The first herdsman, so to speak, yet he lived before the separation.

Honestly, after doing some study on this one, I don't think I'm actually going to Heaven, at least not right away.  Follow me on this one and see if it makes sense to you.

I know we are in the end times of prophecy, so many signs were given it's hard to miss it in the papers today.  So take it I believe that part (and not argue the whole thing, only the important part).

If we are indeed in the last days before Jesus comes back to this earth, then He will set up His kingdom on earth for 1000 years.  During this time, anyone who has died during the tribulation period before His return, will reign with Him here on earth for those 1000 years.  Since I will choose to die fighting for my faith coupled with the time I believe we're in, I don't honestly think I'm going on up right away.

Another part many seem to miss is that Heaven was only promised for those who believe on Jesus.  The earth was promised to those who are Jewish.  Look at the promises God made throughout the Bible and who they're too.

If God is so complex that even Christians have to work hard to study the complexity of just His words on paper, do you really, honestly think he's gonna let us get bored?

I personally want to check out the rings of Saturn, myself, ya know, in person.  I have some goals...  :-)

  11. 1st know that heaven will be right here on earth after the millennium (lord's day) and after the white throne judgement so as to what will i do all the things i like to do now that are not against God's word read ezek most of this book is dedicated to the millenium and to the eternity

  12. The longer we are in Heaven, the more we will know of God, and the more intense will be our happiness.

  13. Enjoy life like never before. Peace and goodness will be the rule of the day.

    Revelation 21:4

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
