  1. well that depends... can you jump high?? also are you a libero or play backrow , u dont' have to be too tall to that ..

  2. its all about the position you play and your skill level if u havent played vball for a long time then no, if u play a middle hitter i would probably say no, however if u r a libero u could make it, it also depends on how high you can jump, and how skilled of a player you are, if you are an amazing player here is no way that they can't put you on the team just because you are short

  3. You would almost certainly have to be a libero.  Even if you are a good setter, it's not likely you would be able to play D1 at your height.  You would be a huge liability at the net unless you have a HUGE vertical.  Good luck.  GO CORNHUSKERS!

  4. it depends on what position that you play and how good you are if you a defensive specialist , i would say yes, if you a setter that can jump high, less likely but possible, hitter, almost impossible unless you can jump and i mean really jump

good luck and i hope this helps

  5. None, zilch, nada, zero - sorry but you asked.

  6. Well... not a big chance.  Libero or maybe not likely setting.  I don't know, you would have to push yourself to your absolute limit during your training, school, and club seasons to really be considered, but I've seen it done before.  You just have to REALLY want it.

  7. You have a chance... especially if you can jump high or set.

Height helps you a lot... but that's not all that you need to be made of to be good at volleyball.

  8. What sport do you play?  How old are you? Just curious to see how many years you have left to grow...Are you great at what you do?

Whatever it is, remember, there is always a chance!  You just have to work hard at being the best in the position you play...People will always look at your height and see it as something that will stand in your way...You have to show them that you height has NOTHING to do with your ability to play the game at a level higher and more efficient than anyone else!

It is very unfortunate that the society we live in will always judge your performance partly based upon your height...That's why you have to make sure you can get on a court/field and your game can do all the talking for you!  Don't let your height make you feel inferior or like you can't...Always bust your butt to be the best and remember that you CAN!

    Best wishes to you!

  9. 5'5" played d1/d2.  if you are fast with a good vertical, scrappy, can hit well, serve well, dig well, and are crafty you can and will make it....anyone who says you can't is an idiot.

  10. hitter or blocker only if you jump insanely high --- MUST get elbows over net on a block

setter, libero, defensive specialist -- there would be no height problem there, as long as you're good enough.

  11. Well, you better know how to either set/pass amazingly.  Or you better have a huge vertical.  I'm going to be a sophmore, I'm about 5'7" with a vertical of 28.  I'm already committed to the University of Kansas as a right side hitter/setter.  But you do have pretty good chances is you are a VERY good passer.

  12. You can always make a D1 school.  As long as you do not think you are too short, you can make it.

I was refereeing a D1 match when the big outside hitter went down with a sprained ankle.  Due to substitution problems, the only player left to play in that spot was the defensive specialist that played back row for the player that got hurt.  No one told her that she was only 5'4" and she was too short to be the outside hitter.  Her team lost the first game and was losing in the second.  She finished the game with 7 kills and her team won the game.  She had around 20 kills for the match and her team won the match.  The coach decided that she was so effective as the outside, she started the next matches until the other hitter was able to get back into the starting lineup.

She was effective because no one told her that she was too short.

  13. if u are a good setter then u have good chances
