  1. I think there are not common words between arabic and spanish, but there are some words that come from arabic like:

    - almohada (pillow)

    - ojala (god willing)

    ...

  2. Another couple of examples:

    (Yes, words beginning with al-)

    Alcázar - castle

    álgebra - algebra

    alfombra - carpet/rug

    Alhambra - name of the palace in Granada

    Algeciras and Almería - two cities in Spain

    Oh, and tangerina - tangerine, root in Tangiers, the city

    ojalá - I didn´t know that, but now that it´s been mentioned, makes sense.

  3. any word beginning with al- such as alcalde.  about 60% of borrowed words do start with al-, many others are place names throughout spain.
