  1. blackberry for sure,,,or the new apple phone,,,thtat will p**s people off for sure!!!!!

  2. On land line phones I would say the Iris 3000.  It's a video phone where you can talk and see the person live.  It has all sorts of functions and features that a normal phone does not have.  Everytime someone walks into my house, they want one.  You can take a look at it at http://www.tiffanyvague.acnrep.com

  3. I don't think anyone's going to be particularly jealous about someone owning any model of land line phone.   The status symbol phones these days are cell phone models, typically ones along the lines of iPhone and Blackberry.

For a land line phone, just get one that fits your personal tastes.   You're not likely to find much in the way of a land line phone that other people will covet or pay much attention to.   While very reliable, they're just not that "s**y" anymore -- if they ever were.

The newer V-tech cordless models have copied the styling you'd find on the Motorola RAZR and its overpriced knockoffs, right down to the etched metal keypad.   However, the size of the handset is still far too large to mistake for a current or even previous generation cell phone.

If you want something that's interesting without being overly tacky, there are some very nice models that are designed to look like antique telephones.   They're touch tone, but resemble rotary dial.   One local fellow cannibalized the guts from a boring "princess" phone and built himself a near replica of one of those old 1900s crank phones with the separate mouth and ear piece (the crank is fake, and the front panel was painted black blend with the keypad's original colour).  I think it's pretty cool, but my tastes tend to run toward  the geeky stuff.

If this is going in a rec room, you could go for a retro pay phone.   I'm not sure if you could get a real one, but replicas are available (not cheap though).   While not suitable for the bedroom, it'd definitely be a conversation starter, especially seeing as 50s, and 80s retro stuff has been very popular of late.   That'd probably be the closest thing you'd get to a land line phone that others would be jealous of, but it's not to everyone's taste.
