  2. Any daycare of preschool tour is going to show you the "best". Teachers are prepared to give you the answers most parents want to hear.

Visit your child's daycare or preschool once or twice a week after your child has been there to really see what is going on. Don't make your visits on any particular day of the week. Go on Monday's and Thursday's one week: Tuesday's and Friday's another week. Some weeks, go every day.

As a retired teacher, and now a substitute teacher, I can tell you, parental visits at school, whether daycare/preschool, elementary, middle school, or high school, is paramount to a school's effectiveness in teaching. Students who know their parents are going to be monitoring their progress, will be more likely to achieve.

Employers need to be made aware of how important it is for parents to visit their child's school; affording them a few hours of paid leave each week to do so.

Society expects the American Public School System to educate their young people, not only through books, but morally and societal. Teachers cannot replace family. Parents must also accept responsibility.

  3. whether the preschool is providing age appropriate activities and ask about the activities

    teacher student ratio

do the kids love to come to school

are the teachers given continuous training

    regular medical checkups

are the parents invited to interact with kids on monthly basis and share their kids toys with other school kids
