seriously things that you cant do in a thunderstorm are:

* Do not use a telephone except in an emergency.. if the phone rings don't answer it. Because lightning could hit the phone line and travel though the line and zap you though the phone. Some people have died that way.

Portable phones aren't connected to wires, but lightning could still cause a loud "pop" that could hurt your ear.

* Stay away from electrical appliances, televisions, fireplaces, windows and exterior doors.

* You may unplug appliances prior to a storm, but do not do so once a storm has begun.

* Avoid touching kitchen and bathroom faucets and other metal components in your house... means that don't have shower at a thunderstorm

* When there is a thunderstorm outside do not stand near the windows.

Do not stand up when you are one of the tallest things around. Do not lay down. Do not stand under a tree or stand near a metal tower or telephone pole. In short, make yourself the smallest target as possible by squatting and not putting your hands up. If you feel your hair standing on edge, you are about to be hit-- move somewhere else. Cars are good. Put your electronics down. Do not use an umbrella. Avoid anything that is a good ground. Avoid the top of a hill. Put your golf clubs down and leave them.
