  1. one must admit that now India is an equal player in terms of technology. so  India is using all types of energy conventional - non conventional.

for electricity we use water (hydro electricity), coal & diesel (thermal power), wind (wind energy), urenium, thorium (nuclear power).

as fual we use coal, diesel, petrol, gas ( LPG, CNG, etc.) in transportation, in factories, in generating power.

we can reuse water for agriculture, for civilion uses, but we can not reuse other resources exept wind.

so I admit the water as energy resouces is the best.

  2. In India various sources are used to derive energy.Earlier only coal was the sole method of deriving energy to be fed at the grid. But now a days various sources are being used & tested to be used to produce energy.

Due to recent increase in coal prices & increase consciousness of the Govt & companies about the harmful effects of coal the notorious most of all fuel in environmental degradation  there is an increased inclination of the corporates towards natural gas as a alternative for the energy production. They are a lot cleaner, greener & efficient  way to produce energy.

The calorific value of natural gas is much higher than coal & energy can be extracted efficiently.

Some part of India's energy requirement is also full filled by the nuclear power but it forms a very small part of the total proportion. The good thing of the nuclear power is that they don't pollute the environment but the potential danger they carry with them is the main reason for the lack of development of nuclear power as one of the leading energy provider.

But today also large corporate houses like Suzlon,Bhel are also investing largely on wind mills & turbines to produce energy.According to one of the hopefully estimates India can be able to produce 1000MW of energy from wind by 2020 if the growth of wind mills, firms is encouraged.

Also as India being largely a tropical area & sun shining for more than 70% of the time in an year India s perfectly placed to produce solar energy efficiently & sufficiently.According to one of the estimates if solar panel are used extensively then India will be able to produce 29% of the total electricity requirements from Sun itself. And also due to rising efficiecy in solar panel & by its fruitefull employment by 2020 entire grid of the country can be fed by solar energy.

There are also other more radical methods proposed by various sections of society for the energy production e.g.energy produced by using the bagasse of the sugar cane as fuel or reusing to the house hold wastes particularly non-biodegradable wastes as a energy source but the potential risk of emission of harmful chemicals is a imminent danger.

These wind & solar are renewable sources of energy & are environment friendly. So they tend to bring about a sustainable development method to produce energy.

But by the use of the fossil fuel we are actually depleting non-renewable resources lie coal & natural gas. These with their burning emit many noxious gases which cause imminent danger to environment like the Green house effect.

But its pathetic to realise that India is still vary much dependent on the dirtiest fuel the coal to produce energy.

So the public, govt & the society must think of much cleaner, greener ways & sustainable ways to produce energy.

  3. Energy resources obviously give energy... like we get hydro power from water, similarly energy can be achieved from nuclear power , coal, wind  .. etc .. In india its used mainly for electicity which is a basic energy supplier for major work.

  4. in india they use nucler energy as electrical energy

  5. Energy resources is used to Generate the Power.

Energy resources are mainly – Conventional  & Non conventional

Conventional such as – Coal , Fossil fuel ( Diesel, Petrol, LPG,CNG, etc.) & Nuclear etc.

Non conventional -  Solar, Wind, Hydro & Bio diesel etc.

These are mainly for used generating power, using Thermal/Gas/ Nuclear Power Plants. Which is turn used for Domestic use, Industrial & Commercial purposes such as running Factories & Transportation, running Agricultural Infrastructures etc.  Obliviously with Industrial revolution energy requirement is tremendously increasing. However it leads to releasing of harmful gases and solid waste such as fly ash etc. which is causing Green house effect & Nuclear plant has risk of harmful radiations which is dangers to human life & animal kingdom.

Diesel, Petrol, ATF & Gas is being used in big way for IC& Jet engines which in turn used for transportation (LMV, LCV, HCV etc.) and Generators etc. Which in turn leading to Global warming & melting of polar ice etc.

We are still running plants based on old technologies, warn out & completed it’s full life may be 40 – 50 years old or more. In India we have seen the fiasco such as Enron Power, a new plant but due to red- tapism  couldn’t  be operated as per initial plan & many more cases. ,

Where new alternatives are under Research & development such as Bio diesel using Zetropha seeds (Ratan Jot)etc. and Non conventional sources are still not economical compared to conventional ones except hydro in some cases. As a social cause it’s the duty of all Citizen, Govt. & Industry to conserve the energy resourses, by not exploiting them and Make our planet Greener & safer for all.
