  1. Race shouldn't matter.  I am bi-racial and my parents are both white.  When they decided to adopt, they wanted a girl because they had a son already.  They didn't care what nationality I was.

  2. it should not matter. Adopt two if you can haha.

as long as you provide a happy home.

  3. Any race. You might want to get married before you go through with this though. Adopting is a wonderful decision to make, there are alot of children without a home and a family and that is a great thing to offer someone. You should think less about race and talk an adoption agency and they might come up with some suggestions of children who are in another counrty that really need a home or one that has been there for a while.

  4. I won't be one of the people telling you just to go out and pick any old baby and adopt it regardless. Not putting any thought into something as monumental as this is not fair to your future child. As much as it probably shouldn't, race DOES matter. What are the demographics of your area? You being Caucasian and your boyfriend being black is a good start. A child of either of those races, or mixed, would benefit from having family members of the same racial background and who understand racism and race based issues. Do you live in a community with a lot of African Americans? Hispanics? Asians? Do you have other family members from other races? Do you have Asian or Hispanic friends? What are the schools in the area you plan to raise the child like? Are they racially diverse? Would you be willing to move to a different area?

There are SO many things to consider about adoption, and I think its great that you are discussing this way ahead of time. Please continue to think and discuss this with your boyfriend, and ask any questions you have.

  5. A CHILD IS A CHILD. THEY NEED LOVE JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES. MY HUBBY AND I ARE BOTH WHITE AND WE ADOPTED BIRACIAL BABIES. THEY AREN'T BABIES ANYMORE BUT I WOULDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING.

NO CHILD EVER ASKS TO BE BORN. BLACK,WHITE,OR PINK PURPLE POKADOTTED ONES (I KNOW THERE ISN'T ANY OF THOSE)!!

WHEN  A CHILD IS BORN THEY ONLY THING THEY ASK FOR BESIDES FOOD AND DIAPER CHANGES IS FOR SOMEONE TO LOVE THEM. IF YOU WANT A CHILD THEN IT SHOULDN'T MATTER!!

IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE WILL SAY THEN YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE A CHILD. EVERYONE WILL HAVE AN OPINION ABOUT IT. NO MATTER WHAT RACE IT IS.

  6. if you want people to think it's your baby than adopt a baby thats half black and half white than people will think you to had a people. a baby that looks like she or he is black and white.

  7. Any, it doesn't matter. Just choice a child that you like or catches your eyes!

  8. Any race you want to adopt.  Race shouldn't matter, but that is a little naive to say.  Instead, I will say that you should adopt whatever race you feel comfortable adopting.  Especially if it is not going to be kept a secret from the child that he/she is adopted (I am highly in favor of full disclosure from an early age), then your race is irrelevant.

  9. I dont think color will matter. What ever you would like!

  10. Get married first and you need to married for a couple of years by what i heard. It doesn't matter what race i don't think. When your single they don't want you to adopt everybody thinks that a family with both a mother and father is the best. I guess if one of them die then it's alright.

  11. Hun, it doesn't matter, they are all the same and need a loving family.

  12. check for biracial babies first and foremost so that the child wont grow up confused or teased by kids.  Then check for spanish and light skinned black babies.  I strongly suggest you dont adopt a 100% white or 100% black baby because this will cause problems growing up.  If they are adopted, maybe they wouldnt want to share that with their school mates or friends in college.  Try having a baby first, im sure you can have one, dont opt out of that choice!

  13. How about a mixed baby. It would be more like any natural children you might have together.

  14. ANY!

  15. well one of each would be good and bring them up good and liking both races that would be fair and good also have them not the same ages or babies. maybe 3 and 5 soemthign like that or older to help. it would be great.

  16. Whatever child you desire.  When you have your homestudy, they will talk it over with you at great lengths.  I will tell you though, as awful as it sounds it's faster usually to adopt a child that is black.

  17. A child sees no color.  Any child would love a home where they are loved and appreciated.  It doesn't matter the color of their parents.

Remember, Love first before all other.

  18. ANYTHING!!!! Does it really matter? Really?

  19. You can always adopt a biracal child.  Also, I think if and when you decide to adopt when you see the child for you and you fall in love with him/her, race will not be an issue at all.

  20. It doesn't matter. The whole point is to bring in a child who has no parents that are able to take care of them and treat them as your own. If you find a African baby that you want to adopt, adopt him/her. If the baby is white, or another race, so be it.
