  1. Yeah man I am a AAA Goalie so, I always get mine cut at a half inch, then use a Sweet stick, an edge stone right after i get them sharpened. This is what i prefer, and it is a pretty aggresive edge for a goaltender, but it makes for crisp movement, and fast, quik stops. Also if you know how to butterfly slide, this cut will help you when you are down, and need a good solid push to get from one side of the net to the other. Being younger, and not very big yet, 3/4 might work for you too. Try both out, and pick the best one.

  2. Player skates, start at 1/2. It's all personal feel, so start there, especially if you need to work on stopping. A deeper edge will make learning to stop harder because it'll catch easier and make you fall if you're not used to it. After you learn stopping and such decide if you want to go to 3/8 or not- if you don't feel like you're getting enough grip on the ice.

    Goalie skates- ask a goalie.
