What railroad had locomotives painted purple wiyh a grey stripe down the center ?

  1. I know that another railroad name (a subsidiary) also appeared with that same paint scheme on some equipment.  I am thinking it was the Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Potomac.  During the diesel age it was owned partly by ACL.  I may be wrong about exactly which subsidiary it was.

  5. Atlantic Coast Line!  Has to be -- they're the only ones that painted their locos purple [and it think it was silver, not gray]
