For a job dealing with bereaved families, in an office, management position, also having to carry a pager every 3rd week and be on call 24 hrs a day for that entire 7 days.

  1. It depends where you would be based out of. Were you to have that sort of position in Manhattan, you would be looking at 50k-90k p.a.; however, were you to be in a rural area, you would be looking at 35k-50k. A good rule of thumb is to multiply the number of employees you would be managing, multiplied by area factor [1 if rural (~100,000 people), 1.25 if small city (~250,000 people), 1.5 if medium city (~500,000 people), 1.75-2.00 if large city (over 1 million people). To this, add extra if you have a masters degree or phD or subtract if you have less than a bachelor's degree. Variance should also be figured for company status (nonprofit, government, etc.) and years experience you have in the field and/or in a related position.
