What rating is least likely to be deployed in the navy reserves?

i have a friend who recently joined the navy reserves, he is currently in boot campp andI'mm worried about him being deployed. currently he is listed as an MA but i was wondering if there is another rating that would be less likely to be sent overseas>

  2. I believe it is HIS choice, no? For you, the best rating is "civilian"... no deployment, but Emigration is allowed.

  3. Seaman recruit. The only place they can be sent is boot camp.

    The other rating is discharged veteran.

      

  4. there are exactly TWO times when you absolutely cannot be deployed: when in school training, and when in school instructing.  EVERYBODY else is subject to deployment.  

    as an MA..he WILL deploy.  

  5. Are you worried he may get shot or something? Not likely, he'll be on a ship unless he requests an Iraq assignment. Even then he probably won't get it. Most likely division to be in Iraq would be the Seabees.
