What re the living expenses like for a single male in Mumbai, India?

My expenses will most likely be - rent (1 br apartment), utilities, food, entertainment. Defintiely no cars or motor-bikes.

Well... it completely depends on the location  you'd want to live (I am not sure which country you are from, that might have really helped). If you can adjust in the suburbs of mumbai, good enough, 1br fully furnished would be in range of Rs 12,000-15,000/- (= $300-$400) whereas in the proper posh city area, it would be close to twice that amount.

Food is cheap in India and Mumbai is no exception. It completely depends your status, you can survive in mumbai for few hundred Rupee per day (= $4-$5), while dining at good places (I am not talking about very posh restaurants).

Utilities, entertainment - very much affordable.

Bikes are fairly cheap in India (you'd get an "okay" one for around $1000). But yes, there would be operating costs.

But do keep in my, your lifestyle would dictate your expenses :)  

If you are from abroad, you'd surely find India very cheap and affordable.
