  1. I dont like horsey people that think their better than everyone else. Like ones that have 100 horses and than think the girl with just one horse wont beat her! Well they can! lol.

Ive also found the show circut to be really s****., maybe this is just because im one to go to a show for fun and love of horses and the riding while others may just be there to win! Done get me rong i like to win aswell but there is no point in winning if you cant smile and enjoy it at the same time!

  2. they smell like horses  :  )

  3. ONE-UPPERS!

People that talk the talk, but can't walk the walk...If you're not good at something, just admit it. That doesn't mean that you won't ever be good! I'd much rather know a humble, unskilled horseman/woman than an over-confident, unskilled horseman/worman.

  4. Well some of my friends are horse people, but I guess the thing that kinda bothers me is when theres any mention of horses they will go 'Oooh horses! I love those. I ride them. Big Brown for the crown!' or something like that. It's not really annoying, but it gets to me.

  5. The only time I find myself truly annoyed with any horse person is when they close their minds to better ways of doing things.  I began learning the natural horsemanship methods about five or six years ago.  It changed my approach to training and has since proven to be superior to my former approaches on many levels.  When I encounter a trainer who has all the answers, and who pulls rank because of past glories, it annoys me.  So many still use devices, whips, and other training "aids" that I now know to be unnecessary, simply because it is the way they always did it and I guess they are either too busy or too stubborn to try something new.  Where horse training is concerned, "if it ain't broke don't fix it" needs to be reinterpreted.  Even if show performance reflects training success, if the training method is one bit more harsh than it needs to be to get the same result, then the method is broke and needs fixing.

I do believe that gradually the demand for better methods will put these trainers out of business as horse owners are enlightened and refuse to allow their methods to be practiced on their horses, and as more and more enlightened trainers become available.

  6. Nothing at all, except for my severe allergy to equines.

  7. Annoying? Nothing. I love horse people.  Now, cat people, THEY are annoying..lol..

  8. Generally I love horse people or at least "true" horse people. Those who are true to their horses and show them respect and kindnes. These are the people who before the end of year compitition see their horse is off or not quite right and cancel rather than trying to do it anyway and then blaming the horse when it all blows up. Basicly, those who are into horses not as a status symbol, or to make money, or to try to look better than someone else.

What I hate to see are:

1: Backyard Breeders -- those that think every horse should have a baby every year just because it's physically capable of it (and sometimes even if its not!) just because they think "foals are cute and we can sell it! If all else fails we'll just run it through the sale. It'll be sure to find a good home that way." Yeah Right...NOT!

2: Big time breeders/producers -- those who produce 100 or so foals every year just to try to get that "perfect" one or two and then callously dump the rest.

3: Wanna Be Trainers -- They watch a couple CA or PP episodes on RFD and then start telling everyone around them what they are doing wrong (even though they can't get their own horse to stop bolting, bucking ect) then hang out a shingle and start training so they can mess up other peoples horses who are too ignorant to know any better. They all claim to be able to start a 2yo and have it "Bomb proof and beginner safe" in 30 days.

4: People who claim to "love" horses but don't even care enough to learn how to care for them properly or even feed them or call a farrier or vet out and in the end the poor things end up as a rack of bones standing in a rescue on four foundered feet (if they're very lucky) or on a double decker headed for Canada or Mexico (if they're unlucky) and the second is the most likely.

Basicly I guess I love horse people that are true to their horses and spend their time learning more about them and better ways to care for them but despise the wanna be, pretend people who just see them as a means to accomplish something -- either money wise, for prestige or status.

  9. they are vain about their horses - they think their better than everyone else.

**NOT everyone, just some people** oh and some are VERY hypocritcal

  10. I don't like horse people that are bitchy and think that they know so much more than others! I hate it when horse people are s****.. Drives me batty.

  11. nothing I love horse people I am one of them so if you do have a prob with them what its it??

  12. Hi, I have been in the horse industry for many years now . I own and train horses and sometimes show them. There are a few people in the horse industry that are un trustworthy and there are a few scammers but that does not mean the the horse industry is bad because it is NOT. A thing that annoys me with some horse owners is they think they are better then everyone else and at shows you will find there is alot of bitchy ness beetween a few people but if you are going to be in the horse industry you going to have to get over it quickly as you have more impotent things to worry about like your horses. Also some horse owners are stuck up but I am NOT going to give the horse industry a bad name considering I am a horse person there is really nothing wrong with horse people there are just a couple of people in the horse industry that are un trustworthy but you get that every where . Most horse people are great and they are really nice people. So is there a problem that you have will the horse industery and by the way we are called Horse owners or people in the horse industery as I have never seen Horse people I don't think there is horse poeple . anyway thanks and is there is a problem with the whole horse industrey please I am sure everyone would love to know !!??

"ALSO BTW IF YOU HAVE PLACED THIS ADD HERE TO B***H ABOUT HORSE PEOPLE GOD GIRL YOU HAVE PUT THE QUESTION IN THE WRONG HEADING BECAUSE IT IS UNDER "HORSES" AND WE ARE IN THE HORSE INDUSTREY WE ARE NOT GOING TO LET PEOPLE GIVE US A BAD NAME " but anyway no hard feelings =]

  13. nothing really just how they think there beta than every1 else

  14. they usually act like they know everything. also, they own other animals, such as cows, and brag on cutting their balls off.. mmm, sounds fun =/ poor cows. awful.

  15. i've always found fellow horse people to be very helpful and they really don't annoy me.

i think the only thing that annoys me, really, is people looking for a reason to be annoyed.  that's a waste of precious time!

  16. The ones who go out of their way to make you feel small by acting/thinking they are better than you! Erghhh I cant stand it!

  17. The only thing that used to annoy me were people who would look down on you at the barn because

    -You didn't own a horse

    -You couldn't afford top-notch brand-new high-quality riding equipment

-You didn't have a plethora of show-ribbons to back up the fact that you thought you were a decent rider (considering the fact that you didnt have a horse to go around to shows with)

But, I've since gotten over it and learned that not every horse person is like that, and that the people who ARE like that are just best to be ignored.

  18. That most of them are so set in their ways.

    Sigh.

Not all,but many of them are.

  19. It annoys me when old school horse people think they're right & won't even entertain new ideas grrr

  20. i just get irritated with people who pretend to know everything. i've had horses for 10 years and i know a good deal about a lot. but i know there is so much more to learn. well i go into a new situation with an open mind and willing to learn and i guess because i'll listen to peoples ideas they go off trying to show how smart and experienced they are. one of the ladies i worked with was always trying to give me advice which i didn't mind because i don't know everything. but she did it with such a self righteous attitude like her way was the only way. anyway i would just smile and continue what i was doing. and i have to admit that i might have giggled just a tiny bit on the more than one occasion she was thrown or lost control of her horse while i went on to win the class.

  21. 1. PEOPLE WHO CLAIM TO BE BETTER THAN THEY ARE.

The equine community is full of people like this.  A woman bragging about how only she can ride her crazy, rearing, 18.4h quarter horse (yes, you read that right!).  The friend of a friend who claimed that she rode green horses all the time, but was unable to stop a horse that would halt from the rider's body alone, then fell off because she couldn't sit the canter.

    2. BLACK STALLION SYNDROME

In which the afflicted believes that they and only they can ride their horse, usually because of their deep, emotional bond.

    3. MY WAY IS THE ONLY WAY.

People who think that the way they train/teach/feed/ride is the only 'right' way to do something, and look down on those who don't agree (I'm sure we're ALL guilty of this at some point or another).

    4. OMG MY HORSE REARED/BUCKED!

People who call a cranky kick a buck and a crowhop a rear.   Sure, it feels big from the saddle, but most riders have never experienced a true, get-the-$@#&-off-my-back buck or a high-ho-Silver rear. Just because you couldn't stay on doesn't mean your horse bucked you off!

    5. BACKYARD BREEDERS

People who breed just for the sake of having a foal to adore, or planning to train it themselves when they have no clue what they're doing, or to 'get their money's worth' out of a horse they can't ride - usually because it's too dangerous... *facepalm*

  22. their ignorance at times.

for myself, forgetting little things like, keeping my hands donw around turns, keeping them straight and forward going down the alleyway, and not using leg. chrome annoys me when she decides that she loves barrels and poles so much that she decides to give them a BIG BEAR hug. grrr. and when she bucks out of happiness and joy while I'M ON HER!

  23. the ones that think they know everything to do with horses and state their opinion in every situation. The one's that think they have the knowledge and experience to buy a 3 year old arabian colt and break it in, only to ruin the poor guy.

The one's that believe letting their horses live as "natural" as possible, not rugging obviously freezing TB's because if they were in the wild they wouldn't be rugged, hard fed or shod....NEWS FLASH. they aren't wild and haven't been for hundreds of years! and i'm pretty sure if a TB went wild it would die of exposure.

People who judge you by your horse and attire...yeah I'm not as rich as you, go jump off a cliff SNOBS! at least MY parents love me!

People who ruin a horses mouth, and then sell an uncontrollable mount to a local beginner child.

and, the helpful Harry's you know the one's I mean, always getting in the way of you and your horse giving unwarranted advice and taking over and making your horse cranky...Thanks Harry but NO!!

  24. girls that deside to "borrow" your horse  for their friends/ mother to ride because you arent around and they know you arent comming to the stable use their own saddle on your high withered horse and you cant ride him for 2 months

  25. i can't stand it when people don't really care about whoever they are riding with.  i know that its the horse world, but when little girls (like 10 year olds!) will just cut in front of you in the ring and not care what your horse is doing.  i hate is when those little girls (some girls are amazing though...and i keep saying girls b/c there are like 2 guys that ride at my barn) that expect you to do everything for them, adn wehn they ride, they carry themselves like they own the place (when the come like once a week...i'm there helping with anything, everyday).  there's one girl that is telling my instructor that she's the only one that can control this one horse and she's such a good trainer...and she can barely control him.  when we play games, she'll come back (and she sometiems loses the races) and she'll say "I WON!".  it's just like:  shut. up.

    haha

    good question!!

  26. The worst thing that I've come in contact in the horse world are horse traders and the like. I went to a horse sale last week and there was a beautiful Bay roan appaloosa. She was gorgeous and the most unusual color and pattern. I rode her around the round pen and then got off to look her over. When I looked at her feet I felt like kicking the guy selling her in the face. He was a private seller and she had been his horse. The poor thing had a club hoof. Her hoof was completely turned to the inside. He saw me looking at it and told me " She just needs a trim" He seriously thought that I'd been born yesterday.  Alot of times you run across people like this who mistreat their animals and then when they are damaged beyond easy repair they throw them away or sell them and act shadey about it. Not all are like that but go to a few horse auctions and you get to see some awful shiesty people.
