After it was found out that many French players had clashed after the side’s 2-0 defeat against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015 in the last game of the Euro 2012 group stages, Laurent Blanc conducted a press conference in Kiev to clear things up in front of the media.
The Cevennes native admitted that the atmosphere was very abrasive in the dressing room but added that this shows that everyone in the team is fired up to do their best.
“Yes, it was hot. This (tension) exists in a locker room and often after a defeat. It shows that there was a reaction and a little electricity.”
The defeat against Sweden meant that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. Les Bleus now face a tough task when they face reigning European champions Spain in the quarterfinals.
L’Equipe today released the content of discussions that took place in the dressing room and it has been found out that it was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alou-Diarra-c5259 who lit the fuse.
Gutted at his performance and his offensive players’ inability to do much, Diarra said that the way his teammates performed was “not normal”. In response to the Marseille man’s opinion, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 asked him to take back his words.
However, that was not all. Soon after, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884 took a swipe from manager Laurent Blanc. The Newcastle United man was going through his cell phone and the manager did not like that one little bit.
“Hatem, all you have to do now is call your family while you are at it,” said Laurent Blanc – a jibe that the young winger did not really appreciate.
The youngster then went on to criticise Blanc for substituting him and even offered him to let him go back home if he was not satisfied with his performance. Ben Arfa then criticised Nasri for his lacklustre performance and blamed him for the atmosphere in the team.
Philippe Mexes, who has been repeatedly criticised by the media, was criticised by assistant manager Alain Boghossian for a yellow card that could have been prevented. In his defence, Mexes retorted that had the midfielders been helpful, he would have not been obliged to take a yellow card as he thought that he took a caution for his team.
A lot of truths were spoken in Kiev a few nights back and it seems that the French side is once again in disarray. After making such a promising start, Les Bleus have once again attracted controversy.
As for Hatem Ben Arfa, his rudeness may have cost him a starting spot in the game against Spain. Once again, many fans would be feeling let down by Les Bleus.
