  1. the best is perfume .. mosquito hate perfume , u try it u will know it

  2. You have already received good advice, but there's one thing that most people don't know about.  You can buy Marten Bird Houses and invite the Martens to move in.  They eat mosquitoes.  The bird houses stand way up high on a pole and there will be 10 or 12 dried gourds hanging from around the top.  That is the only house that they will nest in.  Some people fear the idea of having bats around but they will do the same thing.  And regardless of public opinion, bats do not attack people.  They just fly by so quickly that they scare people.

  3. If you have room to lay down cedar mulch, found at most hardware stores, then this usually keps most flying insects at bay. Really it's a great start if you can lay it thick, the mulch will last for years.

Also the SSS "is " an awesome oil. I remember my grandfather using it when we'd go to the river.I thought it was his cologne ,lol,so it does smell strong but tollerable though.

    Enjoy

  4. eliminate all standing water, be aware of your surroundings, talk to your city leaders about spraying -especially if you live in or near wetlands, and use repellent.

  5. the fruity sprays :3

  6. All of the above work well, and I want to add that generic Listerine in a spray bottle is supposed to work great.

  7. I use several methods to rid mosquitoes from my garden.

Firstly, remove or reduce standing water, where they will lay eggs, thus making more flies to reproduce and expand their population.

If you have ponds you can get products that add a natural bacteria into the water that doesn't let any mosquito larvae mature into flies.  Home Depot and other shops sell these cheaply - look for mosquito Dunks, small donut shaped floating blocks.  See some here at an amazon shop:   http://www.amazon.com/Summit-Chemical-Co...

Solar powered ultra violet lights and mosquito killers are low cost units - $15-25 that attract and kill them.  You can get mains electricity powered ones, but why not make free electricity from the sun!    Eg: http://www.cleanairgardening.com/solar-p...

Citronella also repels them.  This is a plant that can be grown, but it's only really the oil that the plant emits, for example when crushed, that will really work.  You can buy this, in liquid, spray or candle form.  Neem oil also works well.

A cheap spray killer is diluted washing up detergent, which kills most insects, otherwise you can buy commercial insectidal soaps that do the same thing.  Safer for the environment too than man made pesticides.

Overall, with a few simple steps and a small amount of money spent you can drastically reduce mosquito problems.

Hope this helps.  Good luck!  Rob

  8. off bug spray, they also make outside candles now too!

  9. Use the whole arsenal.  Spray yourself heavily, light up citronela tiki torches, and set up bug zappers along the perimter.

Sand blast your area also to keep standing water away.

Next, also layer yourself with 3 bee suits (extra netting).

  10. All of them,

  11. We used to use Diozon (sp?), but they no longer make this.  Any granular bug treatment helps.

    Spray washes away too easily.

Make sure you have NO standing water.  That is a breeding ground.  If you do, petsmart in the pond section, gosh, I can't remember the name of it, but it prevents eggs from hatching.  It is small black granular that you sprinkle in standing water.

If I remember the name of it, I will come back and edit this.

That works GREAT the black granulars.

    :-)

Also, Skin So Soft original scent from Avon works FABULOUS!!  We use it on ourselves when we go out and even in the woods.  There was a study with college students a few years back, and SSS was the best hands down.
