  1. I'm not an iowan and at this point, I dont like ANY of the candidates, dem or rep.

We need to put a plain old, normal, middle-class housewife in the White House.... we know how to keep a budget and balance a checkbook... we dont spend what we dont have... and we dont take s*** from anyone.

  2. I am an Iowan who had the opportunity to see both Obama and Hillary in person.  Both made multiple visits to my area.  His speeches are inspiring, and he took the time to really talk to people and answer questions afterwards. His answers were thorough and intelligent, and he always ended up being late to his next location because he spent so much time answering questions for people.  I liked Hillary, too, but she just seemed more scripted where Obama comes across as being very genuine and earnest in wanting to do what he says he will do.  Another "sticking point" was that Obama made sure everyone knew when and where he would be, and encouraged EVERYONE to attend, whereas Hillary tried to keep things quieter, and only her supporters were notified, others had to find out through the grapevine.  It was like she didn't want anyone there who would ask her the really difficult questions, although sometimes she would not even take the time to take ANY questions.

Another reason for me choosing Obama is that his website is very specific on the issues that are most important to me.

Edwards had been to my area before the last election and I already knew he was not the candidate for me.

To the person who said Obama tried shipping in college students from other states....that would only work if they happened to be a resident of Iowa.  You have to either be a registered Iowa voter to caucus, or you have to prove with proper ID that you are a resident and will be old enough to vote in the general election.  If they can't prove it, then they are allowed in as observers only.  I know this for a fact because I was there.  Also, there are many precincts in Iowa, and since it is all out in the open with friends & neighbors, people not belonging there would be noticed in most areas.  My precinct had about 3 college aged students...and while they all voted for Obama, they were not the biggest portion of his supporters by any means.  There were people of all ages voting for him, including senior citizens.  His biggest group of supporters there were closer to my age (37).

  3. Because Dennis Kucinich was barred there. Dennis won the early debates he was in when there were 8 Democratic candidates and now in the past 10 days he has been barred from both the ABC debate in NH & the upcoming Nevada NBC debate? Why?? Now there are only 4 Dem. candidates left .

I researched that in Texas he has been barred from the ballot because he didnt blindly swear he would support the Dem. chosen ?? Hes fiercely independent!! In Michigan it is only him & Hillary on the ballot. He has a chance, however small,no pun intended ;)

  4. they didnt have to michele obama passed out 50,000 flyers to college kids like my niece in minnesota to come to iowa and vote im glad she didnt but she said alot of her friends did
