What reasons would make you pay to send your child(ren) to a private school?

I am starting a private school in my area, and the public schools are decent as far as their test scores go, but when it comes to class size, qualified/motivated teachers, material/content covered, response to needs of gifted students -- they fall way below my expectations. My school will be for children birth to grade 8. I will only hire qualified, certified teachers with true desire to be in the classroom, I will tailor the curriculum to specific needs of the class and keep the teacher/child ratios well below state requirements. What other things would you look for in a school? What things do you wish your current schools offered your children? Please, SERIOUS responses only. Thanks!

  1. The ability to be "where the student is" in each subject as needed (like 8th grade reading but 6th grade math, for instance)

NO emphasis on sports (mainly football) to the detriment of all else, mainly academics

A consistent schedule from week to week, not a half day off here and two days off there, for every "holiday" that comes down the pike

Real art (not just painting at random but also theory and history) and real music (band/orchestra and individual instrument like piano, violin, or other, with theory and history) classes

    That'll do for a start.
