What recourses are found in the amazon rainforest ( not temperate rainforests )?

you get quinine for treating malaria from the chinchona tree and it is found in the many tropical environments origionally in eastern slopes of the Amazonian area of the Andes.

I was taught at School...right or wrong....that they served the rest of the World with the oxygen for the rest of the Earth. It seems that they are put at stragesic points on this Planet for balance. I have also read that some of the most important people who know about these things, that at the moment are doing their best to stop them being felled....as men are now going in there to do that very thing. As usual  it will be idiots of this Planet who cannot leave anything alone in its natural state, but have to destroy it.
