  1. The UK is Pal, aka region 2, the Playstation will play games from all over the world but, because Sony is in the movie industry and they don't want people buying cheaper abroad, they have locked the Playstation to Pal.

  3. The U.K is in Region B and you'll need region B discs to work on a UK PS3, you could always re-rip your discs them to region B.
