What regular maintenance should I perform on a convertible top?

I just bought a used convertible? What should I know about the top? How can I preserve it?

Also, its lost its color. Is there a way to restore it?

There is not a lot of practical work to do. There are sprays that help to maintain the color but they don't work too well. There are also, however, sprays which restore color which might work for yours.

You could try dissassembling it and making sure all the bolts are tight but that is really hard and requires a lot of skill and patience.

Just take care of it. Don't put it up/down while in motion or let too much snow get on it and it should be good for much of the life of the car.
