  1. His name is Niccolo Machiavelli, he was an important politacal philosopher during the Renaissance. He wrote "the Prince" a work that introduced the idea of the end justifies the means. He also introduced the idea of effective rulers sometimes not following the moral standards expected in "good leaders" of the middle ages. He is a supporter of realism, as opposed the the popular idealism.
