  1. They are Pillars of ISLAM.

  2. They are all traditions based on superstition, and have a direct relationship to mythology.

  3. Fasting (Saum), prayers (Solat) and faith (Shahadah) are part of the five pillars of Islam (Arabic: أركان الإسلام). The other two being Alms Tax for the poor and others eligible (the Zakat) and Pilgrimage to Mecca (the Hajj).

And Ramadhan refers to the month of Ramadhan when Muslims perform daily fasting (from just before dawn till when the sun is just about to set) for one month.

During Ramadhan every Muslim must remain steadfast in his/her faith (i.e. must not waive or even question in his/her belief), and perform the five daily prayers whilst fasting at the same time, otherwise his fasting becomes null and void. Alms Tax is paid only once in a year, whilst pilgrimage to Mecca is mandatory only once in a lifetime subject to a person's level of affordability (the poor need not perform the Hajj) and that his journey or route to Mecca is peaceful.
