  1. Queen Elizabeth I 's aunt, Margaret Tudor is the direct ancestor of the present Queen

Margaret Tudor married James IV of scots and was the great grandmother of James VI of Scots and I of England

The line of the Hanovers is descended from James VI and I

  2. Not so far.

Queen Elizabeth  1 resided over an empire yet to be grounded.

QE2:over an empire which has to yet to solve all its problems .

    OUR DAY WILL COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Freedom for us too!

  3. Here's the list of monarchs from the first Elizabeth to the 2nd.

Now all you have to do is see how each one is related to the next and then you'll have your answer.

    James I

    Charles I

    Charles II

    James II

    William III, Mary II

    Anne

    George I

    George II

    George III

    George IV

    Edward VII

    Elizabeth II

  4. Absolutely none at all as far as I know E1 was a Tudor  from a Welsh-Celtic bloodline who, died not having had any children.

E2 is a descendant of George From Hanover who, arrived by boat spoke very little  English and considered himself part of the German Royal Family a tradition carried on through Victoria -married a German right up to E2 who also married a  German, So although the European royals intermarried They, generally married within their extended Families.

Example The last Tsar,The German Kaiser and The King of England were all cousins.

  5. If I remember my history correctly, I'd have to say very distant cousins.  Elizabeth was the last of the Tudors.  James I ( Elizabeth I's cousin and  Mary Queen of Scots' son) started the house of Stuart.  Then we had all that mess with Charles I.  Queen Anne was the last of the Stuart monarchs.  Then George I (a cousin) started the house of Hanover.  William IV was the last of the Hanovers.  Queen Victoria was his niece and she started the house of Saxe-Coburg that later became the house of Windsor.  She is of course Elizabeth II's great-great grandmother.

  6. Elizabeth I and Elizabeth II are not related. Elizabeth I died unmarried and had no known children. She was the last of the Tudor dynasty, being the direct descendant of Owain Glendower, Owain of the Red Hair, a Welsh Prince. When Henry VII of Lancaster [her grandfather] married Elizabeth Beaufort Duchess of York it ended the Wars of the Roses, between the House of Lancaster and the House of York. The symbol of the House of Lancaster was and is the red rose, and the symbol of the House of York was and is the white rose. The Welsh words for two roses was and is "tu dor" and and that is how the House of Tudor was named- the House of Two Roses.

Elizabeth II is a direct descendent of Queen Victoria, of the German House of Hanover; therefore she is  a mixture of German, Danish, and Scottish blood. She has no Welsh or English ancestry at all, but she can claim to be English because she was born in London at 19 Bruton Street the family home in 1927.

  7. Distantly and indirectly related.

Elisabeth II is descended from James VI of Scotland / I of England through George I who was his great grandson through his mother's side. James was Queen Bess' nephew once removed (she was first cousin to both his parents, as Mary Queen of the Scots was half sister to her husband, Lord Darnley).

While the Stuarts were fairly closely related to the Tudors when the line failed, the scarcity of eligible Stuart relatives when  both william III and queen anne died without issue required fetching far abroad for a successor, hence the british throne falling into essentially German hands.

  8. Colinada...it was 17 Bruton Street, not 19...

  9. There is no connection.......After the Stewarts line ended a new line began with William of Orange.

    Elizabeth 1 died childless too.

  10. I don't know how there can be so many stupidly wrong answers to a question, when the correct answer is so easy to find on the web.

Elizabeth I was the granddaughter of King Henry VII.

Our Queen is a direct descendant from the same King Henry VII, over 16 generations. The line of descent includes Henry's grandson James V of Scotland, his grandson James VI of Scotland, his great-grandson George I, his great-grandson George III, and his granddaughter Victoria who is Elizabeth's great-great-grandmother.

I think in genealogical parlance they are "cousins 14 times removed", because James V and Elizabeth I were full cousins.

  11. They are very distant cousins. Queen Elizabeth II is a descendant of James I of England (James VI of Scotland). James I is Queen Elizabeth I's nephew (whose mother is Mary Queen of Scotland, cousin of Queen Elizabeth I). Mary of Scot's paternal grandmother is Margret Tudor, who is also Queen Elizabeth I's aunt (elder sister of Henry VIII).

  12. i don't know sorry
